About / what we believe
We confess what
Scripture teaches.
We did not invent what we believe. We confess the faith of the Scriptures, summarized in the historic Reformed confessions, and we preach it plainly.
God made us for himself, and we have all turned away: sinners in the sight of God, justly deserving his displeasure, without hope in ourselves. In love, God sent his Son. Jesus Christ lived the life we could not live, died the death our sins deserved, and rose from the dead. Everyone who receives and rests on him alone for salvation is forgiven, counted righteous, adopted into God's family, and made new. Grace means this is a gift: not earned, not deserved, freely given.
The Bible, in its Old and New Testaments, is the written Word of God: inspired, without error, and the final authority for what we believe and how we live. God's Word is God's chosen instrument to create, convict, convert and conform his people, which is why biblical teaching and learning is our first commitment.
- Confession
- The Westminster Confession of Faith, with the Larger and Shorter Catechisms, as our summary of what Scripture teaches
- Denomination
- The Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), a member church of Georgia Foothills Presbytery
- Government
- Shepherded by elders, served by deacons, connected to the wider church through presbytery and general assembly
- Sacraments
- Baptism, for believers and their children, and the Lord's Supper, celebrated on first Sundays
We read the Bible as one covenant story, and we believe God's promises are for believers and their children (Genesis 17:7, Acts 2:39). That conviction shapes everything from our baptisms to why the whole family worships together. Covenant worship explains it in full.
